Blayne Wesley Blowers Minot, North Dakota Obituary

Blayne Wesley Blowers

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our brother, Blayne Wesley Blowers. On October 5, 2021, our Lord freed Blayne from a body that had been failing him for the past 13 years as a result of multiple strokes and, finally, a fatal heart attack. For the last three years, Blayne resided under the loving care of his sister, Kimberly, and the staff at Good Samaritan Society of Algona in Iowa. Blayne was the third child born to Gale and Janice (Naslund) Blowers on February 24, 1955, in Minot, ND. He graduated from Minot High School in 1973. Blayne attended the University of North Dakota and graduated Magnum Cum Laude in 1999 from Drake University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and mass communication. His professional life was in food service management. Blayne was a diehard fan of Iowa football and basketball teams. Blayne is survived by his two children, Brett (Stephanie), Des Moines, Iowa, and Brittany (Kyle) Durkin and two grandchildren, Rochester, Minnesota. Also surviving are his siblings, one brother, Dr. Byron (Chris) Blowers, two sisters, Kimberly (Gary) Nielsen, and Tamara (David) White, along with several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, and an uncle, Randolph (Ruby) Naslund. Blayne was preceded in death by his parents Gale and Janice Blowers, and a niece, Alicia White. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on October 12, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Thompson Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND. Blayne will be laid to rest alongside his parents at Rosehill Memorial Park in Minot on the 18th anniversary of his father’s death, following the memorial service. Blayne’s family and friends will be celebrating his life at the Hawthorn Suites, located at 800 37 Ave. SW, Minot, starting at 12:00 noon on October 12, 2021. The service will be livestreamed and can be accessed by going to https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkw5wBH7W_IUwKUcuLvhgOw
