Domingas J. Fortes, 90, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Brava, Cape Verde Islands, she was the daughter of the late Joaquim and Julia (Baptista) Fortes. She leaves three daughters, Lydia Lopes of Rumford, Josephine Duarte of Pawtucket, and Julia Delgado of Providence, twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one brother, Jose Fortes, and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Arnold Delgado and was pre-deceased by nine siblings. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and socializing. She also had a great appreciation for life. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Saint Martha’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue. Burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 5-8.
