TURBEVILLE – Millie Iona Miles McLaughlin, 90, wife of Beechworth B. “B.B.” McLaughlin, died Friday, October 8, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 10, 1931, in Florence County at the old Miles Homestead, she was a daughter of the late Leo Miles and the late Ruth Ann Floyd Miles. She was a member of Frierson’s Tabernacle Free Will Baptist of Pentecostal Faith Church where she was a member of the Cleo McKenzie Ladies Auxiliary. She was a retired seamstress for several sewing plants in the Turbeville area. She sang Bluegrass Gospel Music with her husband and family. She was totally sold out in her desire to win souls to Jesus. She was known as a mighty prayer warrior. She loved her family and friends. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Tony McLaughlin (Judy) and Chris McLaughlin (Brenda) all of Turbeville; two daughters, Dannie Faye Welch and Daisy Cooke – Matuse (James) all of Turbeville; eleven grandchildren, Johnny McLaughlin, Phil McLaughlin, Sheri Bennhaley, Tonielle Thomas, Heather Graham, Shad Welch, Tiffany Welch Green, Paige Loyd, Cody McLaughlin, Dusty Cooke, Cherish Wirtz; 20 great grandchildren; one brother, Frances Miles of Walterboro; one sister, Vangie Eaddy of Irmo; a special niece, Tammy Collins; one daughter in law, Bonnie Lee McLaughlin Hickman, and a dear friend, Joanne Floyd of Moncks Corner. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, J.B. McLaughlin; and two brothers, Lavelle Miles and A.J. Miles. A funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Monday, October 11, 2021, at Frierson’s Tabernacle Church officiated by Rev. Mike Benton, Rev. Allen Lynch, Rev. Eugene Baker, and Rev. David Richardson. Burial to follow in the Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be, Johnny McLaughlin, Phil McLaughlin, Shad Welch, Cody McLaughlin, Dusty Cooke, Tracy Jr. Benenhaley, and Ricky Floyd. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Johnny Locklair, Clifford Miles, Tommy Wilkes, Harris Welch, Marion Welch, Gerald Stevens, Brice Floyd, Earl Floyd, John L. Floyd, J.E. Floyd, Tommy Floyd, Dudley Floyd, Dalton Miles, Gerald McElveen and Stanley Thigpen. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (from 2 – 3 PM) on Monday, October 11, 2021, at the church and at other times at the residence, 2199 Horse Branch Road, Turbeville, SC. The family request that memorials be made to Turbeville Children’s Home. The family would like to thank Dee, Tonya, Allisha, Angela and all the hospice staff for their love, kindness and support.
