Floyd Gee, 81, of Wallington, NJ suddenly passed away on October 5, 2021, at home, three days after the loss of his beloved daughter, Nicole on October 2, 2021. Floyd Gee was born July 2, 1940, in Halifax County, Enfield, NC. He attended Enfield High School. Floyd and Joan Hardy met in Jersey City, NJ. They married and to this union the beloved Nicole “Nikki“ Gee was conceived. Floyd, Joan, and Nikki relocated to Wallington. NJ. Floyd became gainfully employed at Garden State Paper Co, Inc in Garfield, NJ as a machine tender, where he worked from 1967-2001, when he retired. Floyd was a devoted member at St. Paul's Baptist Church in Passaic NJ. He was a devout family man who loved his wife, Joan and beloved daughter, Nikki. He was a free-spirited person always willing to go above and beyond to help anyone in need. Floyd loved to go to the coffee shop and shoot the blues with the guys. Floyd was a true friend to Tommy Briggs, with whom he also worked. Floyd also had a dear friendship with Dewayne Dye, Sr., a member of St Paul Baptist Church; Paresha “Manish” Patel, the coffee shop owner; and his neighbor across the hall, Lynnell McCloud (whom the Gee family looked at as family). Floyd loved the casino (playing the slots) the racetrack (betting on horses) playing the lottery and scratch-offs. Floyd faithfully went to the barbershop to keep up his handsome looks. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents Alex and Arlean “Goins” Gee, sister Lottie Bailey, brother James Gee and his beloved daughter Nicole “Nikki “Gee on October 2, 2021. Floyd leaves behind his dear wife Joan of 49 plus years, brothers Alexander “Shag” Gee, Reverend Dr. Albert Gee, sisters Violet Arline and Beverly Hamlin (Rufus). Floyd ‘s in laws on wife Joan “Hardy“ Gee’s side are Claudette H. Hutcheson (Nathaniel) of South Hill, VA; Hilda H. Terry (Marshall) and Wanda H. Royster (John) both of Chase City, VA, Alice H. Miller (Wilson) of Mechanicville, VA, Edwin Hardy, Alfred Hardy (Annie), Shirley E. Hardy of Chase City, VA, Garland Carter of Richmond, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Floyd will be deeply and sadly missed by his loving wife Joan, family, and friends.
