Virginia Mae Bradshaw Obituary

Virginia “Ginny” Mae Bradshaw, 91 of Groton, NY passed October 2, 2021 at Guthrie Cortland medical center after a brief stay in the hospital.


Born April 21, 1930 in Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Martin and Lorretta Sheilds.


She had moved with her family to Ledyard, New York and had attended school there as well as helping with the family farm. Virginia had worked for over 30 years at Smith Corona in Groton and then upon the closing of Smith Corona, she had opened the Village Craft Shoppe in Groton.


She had been a parishioner at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church in Groton and had enjoyed crafts, ceramics and was an avid racing and Buffalo Bills fan. In her later years she cherished the time spent with family.


She is survived by her children William (Juli) Bradshaw of Groton and Theresa Compton of Rome, Georgia. Nine grand children- David, Richard, Geoffry, Laken, Hailey, Amber, Emily, Megan, and William and 11 great grandchildren. Daughter-in-laws Laurie Bradshaw of Groton and Jennifer Bradshaw of Summerville, SC and an Aunt Bernice Karns from Fort Myers Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.


She was predeceased by her husband, William L Bradshaw in 2001, her sons Ronald and Martin in 2018 and her aunt Ruth Parmenter.


A graveside service will be held at our Lady of the Lake cemetery in King Ferry on Thursday, October 7 at 1 PM with Deacon George Kozak officiating .
