Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jacquie Boorman, our beloved wife, mother, sister-in law, aunt and friend.  She passed away peacefully at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital on Monday, October 4, 2021, at the age of 72.

Jacquie is survived by her loving husband, Jim; her son Rob; sisters-in-law Marilyn Gross and Barb Waugh; brother-in-law Cliff (Dianne); nieces and nephews; as well as extended family and many friends. She is predeceased by her daughter Andrea and daughter-in-law Tara Hunt.

Jacquie was an avid golfer and member at Pheasant Glen Golf Resort, playing there regularly with her family. She was also a long time member of the Qualicum Beach Curling Club, and occupied many roles associated with the Ladies Club operations.  When not involved in recreational activities, Jacquie was known for her love of horses and riding, and for the many years spent enjoying their hobby farm with Jim.

A special thank you to the wonderful doctors, nurses and caring staff at the Nanaimo Hospital Emergency Department, and on the First Floor medical ward.  They provided fantastic care to Jacquie, and compassionate support to the family during this difficult time.  As well, many thanks go out to the BC Emergency Health Services paramedics that attended to Jacquie, for their quick response and interventions on the way to the hospital.

Following Jacquie’s wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jacquie’s memory can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation, or the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation.
