Marilyn Ruth (Hoy) Mielke Loveland, Colorado Obituary

Marilyn Ruth (Hoy) Mielke

Marilyn Ruth (Hoy) Mielke, 77, of Arvada, Colorado passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on October 3, 2021. She was born on January 2, 1944 in Taylorville, Illinois to Dorothy and Richard Nagler. Her father was a Lutheran minister, so she and her family relocated to various churches in Iowa and Nebraska during her childhood years. In Bellevue, NE she met Arthur Hoy II and they were married on May 8, 1962. Together they had two children, Tammy and Arthur III. They lived in Lincoln, NE until moving to Loveland, Colorado in 1967. In Loveland, Marilyn worked at home as a proofreader for Rocky Mountain Directory and then later as an accounting manager for Colorado Memory Systems and Hewlett Packard. After Art was called to be with the Lord in heaven in 1993, Marilyn married Norbert Mielke on May 30, 1998. Norbert had four children from a previous marriage and Marilyn’s family more than doubled in size. They lived and worked in Loveland before residing in Arvada, Colorado. Marilyn and Norbert loved to travel and camp in their 5th wheel and spent many summers exploring the United States. Marilyn also enjoyed ATV riding, fishing, kayaking, collecting rocks, and beading/craft projects with dear friends. But, she once stated that her most beloved pastime of all was spending time with her kids and grandchildren. Her life revolved around family and her faith with an active involvement in the church community. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Arthur Hoy II and her sister, Janet Stander. She is survived by her husband Norbert Mielke, her brother Bill (Elaine) Nagler, her two children: Tammy (Mike) Zavori, Art (Stephanie) Hoy III; Norbert’s children: Clayton (Tia) Mielke, Debbie (Ron) Hill, Tammy Mielke, Martin (Denise) Mielke and; 14 grandchildren: Jessica, Ryan, Chelsea, Megan, Cassie, Jake, Payden, Joshua, Lucas, Sierra, Jarrett, Jayden, Martin, and Chance, and 3 beloved great grandchildren: Hayden, Rohan, and Emmett. Marilyn also leaves behind a huge circle of extended family members and friends who will remember her as a faithful servant and a kind and caring person with a gentle soul. Marilyn has touched many lives and her passing leaves a hole in all of our hearts.
