John Edward Margelony

John Edward Margelony, 75, passed away unexpectedly on September 27, 2021. A resident of Vernon, CT, he was born in Rockville on April 13, 1946. He was extremely knowledgeable in many trades, plumbing, welding and automotive to name a few. He retired as a welder from Twin Manufacturing in 2002 and moved to Florida before returning to CT in 2010 to be with his family. He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke with everyone. You could always count on John to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed fishing, kayaking, woodworking, gardening and visiting with his friends and family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years, Deborah. He will be dearly missed by his children, Robert and Nancy, Christopher and Jessica, Craig, Kari and Ivan Figueroa, and daughter-in-law Enid Margelony; eleven grandchildren and he was extremely excited to become a great grandfather in 2022. He leaves behind his siblings, Barbara Lavey, David and Joan, Michael and Michelle, and Peggy Margelony; as well as many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law Calvin Lajoie. He is predeceased by his father and mother, Paul and Frances Margelony, his brother Steven Margelony; and his son Michael John Margelony. The family would like to thank the Vernon police department and EMTs for there services. Donations maybe made in John's memory to the American Heart Association. A celebration of life will be held on October 9, 2021, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 9 North Park Street, Vernon, CT. 06066 For online condolences please visit www.pietrasfuneralhome.com
