Mr. Donald E. “Donny” Gossert, 80, of Quincy, PA passed away Sunday evening, October 3, 2021, in his home. Born June 5, 1941 in Washington Township, PA, he was the son of the late Paul W. and Velma R. (Oberholzer) Gossert. Mr. Gossert attended Quincy High School. He and his wife of over 60 years, Molly A. (Geesaman) Gossert, were married on August 20, 1961 in Quincy, PA. In his early life, Mr. Gossert worked at Landis Machine Company, Waynesboro for 12 years. He later worked at Mack Truck, Hagerstown, MD as a tool maker. He retired in 2003 after 30 years of service with the company. He was a member of Quincy United Methodist Church, Quincy Ox Roast Association, and The Owl’s Club, Waynesboro. Mr. Gossert enjoyed being outdoors, going to hunting camp at Gunner Valley, nascar racing, and being with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Claudia R. Gossert and Paula M. Kline, both of Quincy; three grandchildren, Katie Nye (Tim), Mark Kline (Brittany) and Alexandra Kline (Kainen); three great-grandchildren, Garrett Nye, Jacob Nye and Willow Kline; one sister, Marie Fahrney of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Timothy Julian Butts; and two brothers, Robert W. Gossert and Gerald L. Gossert. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Kraig Faust officiating. Burial will follow in Quincy Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday evening and one hour prior to the services, Wednesday afternoon, in the funeral home.
