Bernie was a master seamstress, a lifelong volunteer, and a devout Catholic with a deep commitment to both the Church and her fellow parishioners. Survivors include her three children, Melvin Buffum and Marjorie Kay Buffum of Forest Grove, Oregon, and Richard Buffum, of Hillsboro, Oregon; her two brothers, Kenneth Saeman, of Cross Plains, Wisconsin, and John Saeman and his wife, Carol, of Denver, Colorado; and her two sisters, Edith Beuchner, of Cross Plains, Wisconsin, and Marie Soderholm, of Middleton, Wisconsin.
