Mrs. Mary J. Jones was born in Monroeville, AL on July 11, 1941, to the late Robert Jones and Nancy Dotson.  Mary confessed Christ at an early age at Morning Star Baptist Church in Monroeville, Alabama and continued her dedication to Christ at Second Rose of Sharon Baptist Church in New Orleans, Lousiana.

 

Mary moved to New Orleans at the age of 18, where she worked various jobs until she settled as a Butcher for 39 years at Schwegmann's Super Market.

 

Mary met and married James W. Jones in 1969. To that union was born 4 Children.

 

Mary transitioned this life on September 28, 2021 at 2:13 PM in Jackson, MS. Preceding Mary in death were her parents, Robert and Nancy, husband, James, and son, Thomas.

 

Mary leaves to mourn her son, Terry (Julia); her daughter, Pebla (AI); her son, Warren; and her daughter, Patrice; three granddaughters:. Jaovyne, Nastashia and Ariel; five great grand children and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 06, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Rest Lawn Cemetery, 3540 US-90, Avondale, LA 70094 with her Final Resting Place being Rest Lawn Cemetery.
