Danny Saucedo Obituary

Daniel L Saucedo, 74, a resident of Gilbert, Arizona passed away Monday September 27 in Arizona.

A rosary will be at 11am on Saturday October 9 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lordsburg.  Carlos Bejarano will lead the rosary with a mass to immediately follow with Fr Jude Okonkwo Pastor officiating. Cremation will follow at Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.

Danny was born August 14, 1947 in Lordsburg, NM to Raymond and Connie Saucedo.  He attended school in Lordsburg and graduated from Lordsburg High School in 1966.  Danny was employed with Union Pacific 30 years until his retirement in 2001.  Danny worked in Tucson and then Phoenix for most of his career as a trainmaster.  During that period, he was a devoted family man and avid golfer.  He also followed and cheered for Arizona State University and often attended home sporting events.

After retirement, Danny would spend a lot of his time following his grandkids.  It’s during this time most people in his hometown began to reconnect with him.  There wasn’t a football, basketball, volleyball, track or baseball game that was played without Danny in attendance.  He was often mistaken for an assistant coach and was proud to be called “Grandpa Danny” by most Lordsburg High athletes that he supported.

Danny was known for his stories, his great advice, always being positive and for sure his happiness and being the life of the party.

He is survived by his children, Scott Saucedo (Martin), Daniel Saucedo Jr “DJ”(Jamie), Zach Saucedo(Grace), Chris Bowley(Jenn) and Heather Dillion. Brothers Gilbert Saucedo (Thyra) and Junior Saucedo (Kika) and 3 grandkids who he adored, Ashton, Raymond, and Ashley.  He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Pallbearers will be Eric Saucedo, Mike Saucedo, Ron Saucedo, Stevie Saucedo, Ashton Dillion, and Raymond Saucedo.

Honorary Pallbearers are the 2017 State Champion Mavericks.
