Barbara E. Weissenbuehler

 Barbara Weissenbuehler, 58, born on April 1st 1963, passed away peacefully on the evening of September 26, 2021 with her husband and children by her side. She was born in Emmett Idaho, the baby of 4 children, and grew up on Plaza Fruit Ranch. Barbara graduated from Emmett High School in 1981 and attended Mt Hood Community College where she received a Respiratory Therapy degree. It was there she met her sweetheart, Tom Weissenbuehler, who she married on September 17, 1982 for time and all eternity in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Logan Temple.

 Barbara developed a love of music at a very young age. She played the piano, flute, and sang beautifully. She was part of many choirs, singing groups, participated in plays, and was selected in high school to be part of a national travelling band that performed in Europe. Barbara grew up on and loved the fruit and dairy ranch, her main job was feeding the calves when she was young and many other chores alongside her 2 brothers and her sister as they grew up. Barbara was an athlete and she loved to ride horses. She was Miss Gem County in 1980 and has always loved being involved in things around Emmett, she loved having her grandbabies in the Cherry Festival Children’s parade the last few years.

 Tom and Barbara lived throughout and travelled the world until settling back in Emmett 25 years ago. During that time, they had 4 children. Barbara continued to be involved in music and choir groups, she taught choir in the Emmett School District and has loved teaching piano in her home for 30 years. Barbara taught dance in Emmett for 15 years and she found so much joy doing it.

 Barbara was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed serving in various callings. She loved working with the young woman and directing girls camp, she adored the “Sunshine Girls” as Relief Society President, and her favorite and most current calling was music leader for the primary.

 Barbara was an incredible mother. She was very involved and engaged with her children. She never missed sporting events, concerts, performances, and was her children’s biggest cheerleader. Barbara loved being a mom, but her greatest joy came with grandchildren. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren; Harper, Alexis, Maxwell, Kloe Jane, Sullivan, Goldie Beth, Winnie, & Oakley. She never went long without seeing them and spoiled them endlessly.

 Barbara is survived by her husband Tom Weissenbuehler and her son KJ (Erica) Weissenbuehler, and her daughters Ericka (Micah) Thayn, Andrea (Marcus) Thayn, & Ilicia (Jordan) Damschen, and her 8 grandchildren, also her brother Bryan (Joanne) Elliott, Brenda (Mike) Hannan, Korth (Joan) Elliott, and sister. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Norvil & Beverly Elliott.

 There will be a viewing Friday, October 1st from 6-8pm at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett, ID and at the Emmett Stake Center from noon until 12:45 on Saturday October 2nd prior to the funeral. Funeral Services will be October 2, 2021 at 1:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Emmett Stake Center in Emmett, ID.  Burial will be in the Emmett Cemetery.
