Edward A. Ober, Sr.

Edward A. Ober Sr., of Voorhees NJ, died Sept. 25 at the age of 87. Long time proprietor of Charles F. Ober & Son, a Voorhees-based home-heating/air conditioning business started by his father in 1915 which continues to operate today. Edward was a specialist/sharp shooter in the U.S. Army from 1956-58, serving in Fort Hood, Texas and received the Good Conduct Medal. He was also an avid antique car collector, Ed was a member of the Plymouth Owner’s Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on his cars and golfing. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Ruth (née Hopman); children Gregory (Kim), Jeffrey (Dee), Beth (David) Grening, and Edward Jr. (Denise); and grandchildren Kevin, Denise, Matthew, Evan, Ryan, Amanda, Erica and Joshua; and sister-in-law Patricia Shorter. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday October 4, 2021 from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at the DANKS-HINSKI FUNERAL HOME, 125 N. WHITE HORSE PIKE, LINDENWOLD NJ 08021.
