Anthony Michael "Tony" Farkas
<p>Anthony Michael “Tony” Farkas, 54, of Eden, NC went to be with the Lord Friday September 24, 2021 at UNC Rockingham Heath Care. Memorial services will be conducted at a later date. A native of Elyria, OH, he was the son of the late James T. and Barbara Nichols Farkas and had lived in Eden, NC since 2017. Tony served in the US Marine Corps from 1987 to 1995 as a Combat Engineer and Avionics Technician achieving the rank of Corporal. After serving in the Marine Corps, he was a D.O.D. Contractor, worked in the IT field, and most recently was a truck driver for Mills Trucking Company. He had lived over ten years in both Thailand and Okinawa and was a member of the Marine Corps Association. Survivors include his son: Tyler R. Farkas of Carthage, TX, sister: Melissa F. Swartz and husband Greg of Greenville, VA, mother of his child: Siriporn Farkas of Thailand, his Marine Corps brother: Michael Z. Austin and wife Setsuko of Chesapeake, VA, aunt: Donna G. Collins and husband Everette of Waynesboro, VA, and his uncles: Johnny Stanfield and wife Jan of North Ridgeville, OH, and Ronnie Stanfield and wife Emma of Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
