Wayne Norman Gibson Sr. -GLBFH

Cash- Wayne Norman Gibson Sr, 92, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born November 17, 1928 in Cash to the late Roy and Bess Pierce Gibson. Wayne proudly served in the United States Navy for twenty years during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After his military career he was a mechanic at Lincoln- St. Louis Company for fifteen years. He enjoyed working on lawn mowers, hunting, fishing and creative engineer and loved to tell jokes and never met a stranger. He was a member of the Cash Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Swift and his siblings, Mattie Thetford, Betty West, Fay Peck, Leon Gibson and Jimmy Gibson. He is survived by his children, Wayne Gibson Jr. (Windie) of Hoxie, Lynn Gibson of Weiner, Kenny Berry of Azle, Texas, Judy Redman of Decatur, Texas and Kathy Parnell of Bryant; his former wife, Francis Gibson of Hoxie; twenty-one grandchildren including Austin Gibson, Buddy Gibson, Garrett Carmack, Parker Carmack and Clayton Carmack and fifteen great-grandchildren including Colson Cain Carmack, Zaiden Nicholas Dale Burbank and Lakelenn Asher Scott Gibson and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Cash Cemetery with military honors. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jack Thetford, Mack Thetford, Tim Gibson, Scott Gibson, Ronnie Jones and Mack Keedy.
