Roy Frederick Stein

Roy Frederick Stein, 73, of Laingsburg, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. The family will receive friends at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Laingsburg Chapel on Monday, September 27, 2021, from 11:00am to 1:00pm. At 1:00pm we will proceed to Oak Plains Cemetery in Shaftsburg for burial. Roy was born on November 7, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Emil Raymond and Mildred (Forest) Stein. After graduating high school, Roy enlisted in the United States Army on April 11, 1968 and served as a Sgt. First Class in Vietnam. Roy was a simple man; he gave up his wants for his family’s needs and always made sure that they were taken care of. Roy was a painter by trade for all his life, when he retired, he had over 50 years of painting and millions of brush strokes left around the state. He enjoyed watching Westerns curled up under his favorite University of Michigan blanket that Carrie crocheted for him. He adored his grandchildren and supported them in any way possible. Roy is survived by his wife of 33 years, Carrie. His children; Roy (Dana) Stein Jr. Robin (Mike) Dyer, Ricki Stein, Rhonda (Jim) Wolverton, Samantha (Brian) Warner, and Troy (Charlene) Stein. Also, his 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and one on the way. He was predeceased by his parents. Memorial contributions are suggested the Laingsburg American Legion.
