It is with broken hearts, yet joyful anticipation, that the family of the late Raymond James Curtis announces his passing. Raymond slipped into the presence of the Lord at the Central Newfoundland Regional Hospital, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Monday, September 20th, 2021 at the age of 88 years. Raymond is predeceased by his son – Eddie Curtis; son-in-law – Ian Ash; grandson – Boyde Curtis; parents – Llewelyn and Emma Curtis; stepmother – Annie Curtis; parents-in-law – Cluney and Blanche Andrews; siblings – Wilbert Curtis, Joyce Welshman (Harvey), Malcolm Curtis and Lloyd Curtis; siblings-in-law – Joe Derring, Jean Andrews, Clifford Harris, Dean Morgan, Wayne Saunders, Lucy Andrews and Orvin Short. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife – Dorothy Curtis, La Scie, NL; children – Christine Ash, St. John’s, NL, Phyllis Regular (Kerby), Leamington, ON, Terry Curtis (Kim), La Scie, NL, Kay Norman (Harry), Cambridge, ON, Nancy Norman (Billy), Gander, NL, Tony Curtis (Kim), Barrie, ON, John Curtis (Rena), Adabasca, AB, Marsha Curtis, Irishtown, NL; grandchildren – Mark Regular (Andrea), Paul Curtis (Caroline), Robyn Curtis, Janine Dacosta (Ricky), Jake Norman, Brittany Norman, Douglas Norman (Julia), Jeremy Curtis (Jenna), Michael Curtis (Samantha), Melanie Curtis, Donovan Curtis (Hannah) and James Curtis; great-grandchildren – Ryleigh, Joshua, Brayden, Cassandra, Austin, Brady, Cameron, Sierra, Damien, Raymond, Jack, Carter, Mackenzie, Kaylee, Liam, Grayson and Evelynn; brother – Ernest Curtis; step-sister – Golda White (David); siblings-in-law – Lillian Mitchell (Woodrow), Annie Deering, Edward Andrews, James Andrews (Vera), Geraldine Harris, Gwen Morgan, Nina Saunders, Wayne Andrews (Elizabeth), Valerie Short, Victor Andrews (Nola), Elsie Curtis, Betty Curtis and Lucy Curtis; homecare workers – Peggy Toms and Tiffany Sullivan, along with a large number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Public Visitation took place at Bethel Pentecostal Church, La Scie, NL on Thursday, September 23rd, 2021 from 2:00-4:00PM and 7:00-8:00PM, following specific guidelines pertaining to the global pandemic and associated restrictions. Pastor Jamie & Angela Payne, assisted by Pastor Hurid & Phyllis Bennett conducted a Private Family Funeral Service at Bethel Pentecostal Church, La Scie, NL on Friday, September 24th, 2021 at 1:00PM. Interment followed at Bethel Pentecostal Cemetery, La Scie, NL. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Raymond's memory to La Scie Fire Department, La Scie, NL A0K 3M0. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness."
