<p>Mrs. Janet Lee Stapler Cheatwood, age 59 of Buchanan, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021, in a local healthcare facility after a brief illness.&nbsp; She was born in Carrollton, GA, on December 14, 1961, to Bertie Jiles Stapler and the late Johnny Stapler.&nbsp; Janet attended Bremen High School and for more than 28&nbsp;years was a bus driver for the Haralson County School System.&nbsp; In the last years, she was a school bus driver aide.&nbsp; She truly enjoyed&nbsp;her job of&nbsp;taking care of the children on her bus.&nbsp; Janet also dearly loved her family.</p> <p>Janet is survived by her husband of almost 43 years, Marvin Cheatwood; her children, Regina and Douglas Patnode,&nbsp;Brian Cheatwood,&nbsp;and Brittany Wilkerson all of Buchanan; her mother, Bertie Stapler of Bremen; and two sisters Donna Payton and Bobby Carroll of Buchanan; and Selina Stapler of Centre, AL.&nbsp; Janet is also survived by her precious grandchildren, Katherine, Hayden, William, Abbie, Zachary, Xander, Issac, Lyric, and Allie; and a number of other family members.</p> <p>In accordance with Janet&#39;s wishes, she will be cremated.&nbsp; The family will plan a service at a later time to honor her.&nbsp; The family covets your prayers as they deal with this sudden death.</p> <p>Hutcheson&#39;s Memorial Chapel &amp; Crematory of Buchanan is honored to serve the Cheatwood family.</p>

I'm so sorry to hear of Janet's passing. Although I hadn't seen her in years, playing Red Rover and eating wild muscadines n the woods with her and Donna as little girls will always be a precious memory! May you all find the comfort and peace of Jesus during this time.
