Watheda Howard Hicks, 89 of Duluth, GA passed away September 18, 2021. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Bill Head Funeral Home Duluth Chapel with Rev. Allen Whitley officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Hicks, a native of Lackey, KY was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Lilburn, GA. Through a Prison Ministry she helped prisoners get their GED’s for over 20 years and had just recently retired from doing so. She was retired from AT&T. Preceded in death by her husband, James Gordon Hicks, a son, Joe Gordon Hicks, and her canine companion, Honey, she is survived by her, daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Dan Slayton of Monroe, GA; grandchildren, James Mosley of Jefferson, GA, Eric Hicks of Lawrenceville, GA, Kyle Koch of Monroe, GA; brother, Earl Howard of Dayton, OH; sister, Flo Slone of Ypsilanti, MI.
