<p style="text-align: center;">It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of William (Bill) Edward Stephens On Wednesday September 16, 2021 at the Campbell River Hospital.&nbsp; Born in Campbellford, Ontario in 1940, he was the youngest son to the late Ross &amp; Kathleen Stephens, brother of Jean and the late John Connell, the late Gladys &amp; Joe Ingram and the late Raymond (Bud) and Joyce Stephens.</p> <p style="text-align: center;">He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Linda Banks, his 3 Sons Colin, Mark &amp; Shawn &amp; 3 grandchildren Jessica, Jordan &amp; Brandon.&nbsp; He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and many great nieces &amp; nephews.</p> <p style="text-align: center;">Bill joined the RCMP art a age 19 and served in many postings across the country including Montague PEI, Regina and Island Falls, Saskatchewan and Surrey, BC. During his 33 years of service he made many lifelong friends and was privileged to experience the unbreakable bond between &ldquo;members&rdquo;.</p> <p style="text-align: center;">Bill lived in Langley for many years and in 1997 Linda &amp; Bill moved to Campbell River. Bill was always active in his community both in Langley &amp; Campbell River. He was at various times a member of Rotary, Shrine, RCMP associations and curling clubs.&nbsp; &nbsp;He was always willing to help with a community or fundraising project and truly believed in giving back. &nbsp;As a result of his work in the community he developed many special friendships which he cherished.</p> <p style="text-align: center;">Bill lived his life to the fullest. He was an avid reader, an awesome crib player, a world traveller and a lover of all things West Coast.</p> <p style="text-align: center;">Bill met his illness with courage &amp; dignity.&nbsp; He never wanted to be a worry or burden to anyone. For that the family is eternally grateful to the many heath care workers who helped him along the way, in particular, his physicians Dr. Rob Arnold &amp; Dr. Mahoney.</p> <p style="text-align: center;">A celebration of life will be held at Campbell River United Church 415 Pinecrest Road, Campbell River on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 1 pm. All Covid-19 protocols will be followed.</p> <p style="text-align: center;">In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.</p>
