James Harold Fields, 78 of Baxter, died Saturday, September 18, 2021 at his home. His wishes of cremation and no service are being honored. He was born December 4, 1942 in Putnam County to the late Winette and Louise Montgomery Fields. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jimmie Ethel Watts and a brother Roger Fields. He was a 1961 graduate of Upperman High School in Baxter. Harold was a carpenter by trade and worked on projects such as, Tennessee Valley Authority-Hartsville Nuclear Plant and Sheraton Music City Hotel. He owned Top Notch Marble and made cabinets in his shop. He enjoyed horseback riding and fishing. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Tanda and Russ Quay, son and daughter-in-law Anthony and Corie Fields all of Cookeville, sister and brother-in-law Peggy and Pete Uhlig of St. Petersburg, FL, grandchildren: Skyler Hickey, Rivers Quay, Blaise Quay, Zachary and wife Hannah Fields, Megan and husband Seth DeVries, Emily Fields, great-granddaughter Macie DeVries, honorary granddaughter Lexie Lesko, Significant Other Sara Futrell, best friend Larry Leftwich.
