On Thursday September 2, 2021, John Thomas, a loving husband, and father of two children passed away at the age of 84. He was always known for his sense of humor and his smile. John is survived by his wife Joyce Thomas; his children, Jennifer Thomas; and John Thomas. He is preceded in death by his parents John A.H. Thomas and Eva Thomas, his sisters Joan Smith (Joe), Doris Woodward (Harry), Eva Canton (Ray), Betty Crawford (Wayne), Mary Thomas, and Hilda Thomas, and nephew Richard Ruby. He is survived by his nieces Sharon Crawford, Kim Miller (Bob), Karen Frandsen (Jeff), Leslie Miller, Nicki Reich (Frank), Debra Allen, Kris Smith, Colleen Zeb (Chris) Janelle Downley (Joel); and nephews Brian Crawford (Laurel), Michael Crawford, David Crawford, Tony Canton (Mary Paul), Steven Canton (Ashley). John was born in Fenton, Stroke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England in 1937, to John A.H. Thomas and Eva Thomas. His family moved over to the United States in 1948. After he graduated from High School, he served in the Army from 1958 to 1964. He was honorably discharged from the Army. He worked at GM as an electrician and retired after 35 years. Funeral arrangements for John will be cremation at Trahan Family Funeral Home in Pensacola, Florida, then burial in Lansing, Michigan at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
