Mr. Billy Mance Thomson, Georgia Obituary

Mr. Billy Mance

Mr. Billy Mance was born on Wednesday, January 11, 1961 to the late Mary Lois Mayes and William L. Mance, Sr. in Augusta, GA. On Friday, September 17, 2021 our beloved Billy quietly and peacefully departed this life as he knew while at his residence. His maternal grandparents were both the late Lula Collins Mayes and Leroy Mayes, Sr. formerly of Thomson, GA. His paternal grandparents were both the late Diane and Johnny Mance formerly of Thomson, GA. Billy was united in holy matrimony to his loving wife, Monica Carr Mance on February 20, 2016. Billy was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He’d always put his family first. Not only was he a provider; he was a protector. He loved his wife and children dearly. He bragged about them often along with their accomplishments. At a young age, Billy accepted Christ into his life as his personal savior and joined the Springfield Baptist Church in Thomson, GA. Before his passing, Billy was gainfully employed with the McDuffie County Road Department in Thomson, GA. He was previously an employee of Bennett Distribution Services (affiliated with John Deere) for 17 dedicated years. Billy was a devoted father and an avid body builder. In his early years, Billy spent most of his time training and competing as a body builder. He loved everything about the art and sport of body building. Billy was full of fun, outgoing and always loving. Anyone who knew him, knew that he was a jokester at heart, and he was just having a good time. Billy possessed an infectious laugh that would fill any room with more laughter. He will truly be missed by all who knew him well. In addition to his mother and grandparents, Billy was preceded in death by his oldest son, Billy De’Taria Mance. Left to cherish the best of memories: a wife Monica Carr Mance of Augusta, GA; six daughters, Ania Hixson, Wquanisha Mance, both of Thomson, GA, Chia' Nyqual Mance of Augusta, GA, Hallie (Leroy) Cummings of Myrtle Beach, SC, Destiny Benefield of Valdosta, GA and Alexis Hixson of Macon, GA; two sons, Ja'Toriell "Lil' Billy" Mance of Jopling, MO and Bobby Berry of Augusta, GA; six grandchildren, Don’Tarious Wright, Brakiyah Mance, both of Thomson, GA, Jaylee Gaynor of Valdosta, GA, Masyn Berry of Grovetown, GA, Leroy Cummings and Nicholas Cummings, both of Myrtle Beach, SC; a father, William L.
