Lois Lillian Foels Waseca, Minnesota Obituary

Lois Lillian Foels

LOIS LILLIAN FOELS, age 91 of Waseca was called to her heavenly home on Monday, September 13, 2021. She passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family. Born on June 12, 1930, Lois was the youngest child of Herman and Lillian (Beisner) Bathke. She was raised on a farm in Waseca County along with 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Lois attended country school until the 8th grade and graduated from Waseca High School in 1948. She received an award for her perfect attendance, including no tardy days, which she was very proud of. She gave her heart to the Lord at a young age and devoted her life to Christ and her church. Lois was an original founding member of the EUB Methodist Church in Waseca and is now a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Waseca. Lois was united in marriage to Gordon W. Foels on October 24, 1956. During their 61 years of marriage, they raised 3 children together, Ron (Kim) Foels, Bruce (Tammy) Foels and Marla (Craig) Watje. As a family, they enjoyed traveling, camping, cooking, gardening, and attending Bluegrass music festivals. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas. She cherished the time spent with family and opening handmade or hand painted gifts. During her quiet time in later years, books, crocheting, and jigsaw puzzles were her passion. Her family grew to include 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She loved each and every one of them. She enjoyed being involved in each of their lives and watching them grow. She loved her tablet full of their photos and enjoyed viewing them over and over. We were blessed to have had Lois as an incredible example of kindness, strength, and the love of God and family. We celebrate her life as a Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed. We feel a sense of peace knowing she is reunited with her husband Gordon and walking with the Lord Jesus. “Don’t be weary in prayer, keep at it, watch for God’s answers and remember to be thankful when they come.” - Colossians 4:2 Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Waseca. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, one hour before services at the church. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
