Kern Bernell Hunt Obituary

Kern Bernell Hunt passed away at home in Lincoln, California on September 11, 2021.  Kern was born November 8, 1929 to Ben and Pearl Hunt in Joseph City AZ.  He is predeceased by his parents and 5 brothers and 2 sisters.  He is survived by wife Suzan, son Adam Hunt and Daughter Marlo (Hunt) Schrader and son-in-law, Terry Schrader.  Also step-son, Michael Hamblin, wife Stephanie and 3 grandchildren, Carter, Owen, and Emma Hamblin.  And numerous nieces and nephews.  Kern grew up on his parents dairy farm in Joseph City, AZ until he attended medical school at the University of California San Francisco where he received his Doctor of Medicine  Degree in June of 1965. Kern was a general practice physician and anesthetist who practiced in Sebastopol, California.  Served on the Analy High School Board for a number of years.  In  2002 he and Suzan retired and moved to Lincoln, California.  Kern loved being a physician and cared deeply for his patients.  He was often called by his daughter “the chicken and egg doctor” because he was often paid in meat, eggs, vegetables and other home-grown products.  His hobbies included traveling (Hawaii being his favorite) and his garden. He was an avid SF Giants and 49er fan. He dearly loved animals including his many cows, dogs and cats.  He will be buried in Pleasant Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Sebastopol, California in a private ceremony with only family members present.  PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (916-725-2109), directors.
