Tyler Lee Craig Obituary

Gone too soon, Tyler Lee Craig, 24 of Billings passed away unexpectedly on September 12, 2021, as a result of a tragic accident. Tyler was born on August 7, 1997, in Billings, Montana, to Jason Lee Craig and Keon Marie Sutton. Tyler graduated from Huntley Project School in 2015. He participated in high school rodeo and played on the Huntley Project golf team. Bashful at first, he became a friend to everyone. His infectious smile could light up the room. Tyler grew up with an absolute love for horses. His natural talent was very obvious from a very young age. He loved his kids’ rodeos and then moved on to team penning and sorting with his mom, grandma Kathy, and auntie Katherine. He would steal either aunties’ horses or grandma Kathy’s horse. He loved his time hunting with his grandma and auntie. At an early age, he developed a passion for horses and team roping. It all started with his first horse Swen. A true cowboy, some of his happiest times were spent on his horses Jag, JK, and Moon. When Tyler wasn’t team roping, he spent his time working with his Papa Ken in his construction business and hunting with his dad and brothers. Tyler loved his dogs, playing fetch with them and taking them on runs into the hills on the four-wheeler. With his kind heart and willingness to help others, he had many friends and was even considered like a big brother to some. Tyler loved his friends and family and valued his time spent with them. We may not understand, and you will be dearly missed, but God had a plan and it must be a new rope horse in heaven. He is survived by his parents, Jason Craig and Keon Sutton; brothers Dylan and Parker; grandparents Ken Craig (Sue Lovely), Diana Myers, Dan (Linda) Sutton, Kathy (Todd) Stuber; and numerous extended family and friends. An Open House Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 20, at Chancey’s Event Center, 266 Hogan Rd., Huntley, MT beginning at 2:00 p.m.
