<p>Lorraine H. Pelletier (Decelles) Bassett (89) of Storrs, CT passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Woodlake at Tolland Nursing Home.&nbsp; Lorraine was born on December 5, 1931 in Hartford, CT to Arthur and Florence (Doucette) Pelletier and lived most of her life in Willimantic and Mansfield, CT.&nbsp;</p> <p>Lorraine was an Assistant Girl Scout Leader for many years when her daughters were young and worked as a home health aide later on in life. Her greatest passion was her strong Catholic faith and her involvement within her church community.&nbsp; She would often bring home cooked meals to the priests in her parish and volunteered her services at various church events.&nbsp; Lorraine had a kind soul and is loved by many.&nbsp;</p> <p>She was the widow of Gerard A. Decelles and Miller B. Bassett. &nbsp;She leaves her children, Arthur and Rita Decelles (Las Vegas, Nevada) and their sons, Timothy and Andrew, Elaine and Frederick Kilgus (Mansfield, CT) and their son, Thomas, Theresa and Cliff Goodhue (Springboro, Ohio) and their children, Penny, Paul,&nbsp;Jeff, and Sarah, and Marc Decelles &nbsp;(Storrs, CT) and his daughter, Carissa.&nbsp; She also survived by her stepchildren: Rachel and Patrick Hicks (Virginia), Pamela and Charlie Burgess (Lisbon, CT), Tom and Tina Bassett (Canterbury, CT), Tim and Sue Bassett (Windham, CT) and Sarah and James Glennon (Canterbury, CT).&nbsp; Lorraine was predeceased by her siblings: Lucille Wylie and Joseph A.&nbsp;Pelletier, her grandson, Anthony Kilgus, and stepchildren: Janet Niemi and John Bassett.&nbsp; Lorraine had a special place in her heart for her godson and nephew, Edward Pelletier.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p> <p>The family will receive family and friends for Calling Hours at Potter Funeral Home, 465 Jackson Street, Willimantic, CT on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 5-7pm.&nbsp; There will be a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 10:30am at St. Mary&rsquo;s Church, 1600 Main Street, Coventry, CT followed by a burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Road, Willimantic, CT.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request that donations be made in her name to St. Mary&rsquo;s Church, 1600 Main Street, Coventry, CT. 06238. Lorraine H. Pelletier (Decelles) Bassett (89) of Storrs, CT passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Woodlake at Tolland Nursing Home.  Lorraine was born on December 5, 1931 in Hartford, CT to Arthur and Florence (Doucette) Pelletier and lived most of her life in Willimantic and Mansfield, CT. 

Lorraine was an Assistant Girl Scout Leader for many years when her daughters were young and worked as a home health aide later on in life.
