Joyce Faye Chambers Adams “Nite-Nite”, age 83 of Dayton, OH was born November 12, 1937 in Winchester, KY to the late Robert Chambers and Myrtle Beatrice Tribble Chambers. She was a graduate in the Dayton Public School system. Joyce was baptized at an early age and later became a member of Zion Hill MBC under the leadership of Reverend James B. Outlaw. She was a faithful member of the church more than 50 years and served as President of many ministries in the church. She also worked as a cook for the church feeding the homeless, as the secretary’s aide and in many other capacities of the church.

Joyce was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She never met a stranger and was always willing to give her last to anyone. She often volunteered to help others and enjoyed cooking, bowling, crocheting, sewing and gardening.

Joyce transitioned from this life to be in the presence of the Lord on Monday, September 13, 2021. She was also preceded in death by: husband, Sylvester Adams; (1) son, Edward Darnell Chambers; (2) sisters, Mary Louise Boyd and Ellen Deloris Chambers; (3) brothers, Robert Chambers “Bobby”, Louis Chambers and Jerry Lee Mack.

She leaves to cherish precious memories and celebrate her life; (3) children, Anthony (Terri) Chambers, Sharon Robinson and Katie Turner; (9) grandchildren; (26) grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren; (1) sister, Frieda Hancock; (2) brothers, Paul (JoAnn) Chambers and John (Edith) Chambers; (2) special friends, Bernice Gamble and Mary Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Thomas Funeral Home, 4520 Salem Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45416. Walk through visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
