Mary "Ruth" McNerney Thome
<p><span style="font-size: 20px;"><strong>Mary “Ruth” McNerney Thome</strong>, 94, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2021 at her residence.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 20px;">She was born on August 14, 1927, in Zanesville, daughter of the late Willard McNerney and Susanna Savage. After high school, Ruth attended college at Kentucky Christian College. She then went on to work many years as an office manager for a local collections agency. She was also a member of the Lake Superior Christian Church in Marquette, Michigan.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 20px;">She is survived by her son, Bill (Cindy) Thome; daughter, Denise Thome; brothers, Rev. Lewis Gene McNerney, Grant (Debbie) McNerney; sisters, Carol Brasseur, Wilma (Dan) Wolfe; 2 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 20px;">In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 3 brothers, 4 sisters, and a grandson.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 20px;">There will be no calling hours or funeral at this time as dignified cremation has been chosen by the Thome family.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 20px;">In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Muskingum County Animal Shelter in memory of Ruth.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 20px;">DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home is assisting the Thome family at this time.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 20px;">To sign the online guestbook and to leave your condolences, please visit www.delongbakerlanning.com</span></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>Obituary
