M. R. Hilliard

<p>M. R. Hilliard of Grandview, Texas, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021.&nbsp; He was born January 1, 1932, in Douglas, Texas to James Floyd &ldquo;Pat&rdquo; Hilliard and Lois Lucille (Grim) Hilliard.</p> <p>His family moved to Dallas, Texas when he was seven years old, and he graduated from Sunset High School.&nbsp; M.R. joined the United States Air Force in 1951 and served until 1954 when he was honorably discharged.&nbsp; He was united in marriage to Ruth Chapman on October 7, 1955, in Dallas, Texas.&nbsp; After his military service, he joined the Dallas Fire Department, where he worked thirty-two years until his retirement in 1987.&nbsp; He was an avid R.V. traveler and enjoyed carpentry work.</p> <p>In addition to his parents, M.R. was preceded in death by a brother, Hilton Hilliard.</p> <p>M.R. is survived by his wife, Ruth Hilliard; children, Randy Hilliard, Brian Hilliard and wife Salena, Keith Hilliard and wife Donna, and Kimberly Reid and husband John; grandchildren, Amos Hilliard, Jayde Simpson and husband Ken, Lauren Fletcher and husband B.J., Brianne Williams and husband Tyler, Jennifer Carney and husband Casey, Alana Hilliard, Caitlin Hilliard, Kailey Hilliard, Patrick Hilliard, Isabella Hilliard, Scott Reid, Zane Reid and wife Emily; great grandchildren, Kenny Simpson, Kaylee Fletcher, Kynlee Fletcher, Emory Williams, Landry Williams, Gentry Williams, Evangeline Valdez, Arinette Valdez.</p> <p>Visitation will be held Friday, September 17, 2021, at noon in the Marshall and Marshall Chapel in Hillsboro followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><iframe allow="autoplay; fullscreen" allowfullscreen="true" allowtransparency="true" class="ts_player" frameborder="0" height="330" scrolling="no" src="https://www.tributeslides.com/videos/embedded_video/MJC7KFWQ99GFYLXL" width="512"></iframe></p>
