Danita Ann Ashby Obituary

Danita "Ms. Nita" Ann Ashby was born on August 6, 1960 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Doris Ann Miller and Farn Hunter. She departed peacefully on September 7, 2021 at Norton Women's and Children's Hospital. Nita graduated from Butler Traditional High School and became a "jack of all trades." She was unapologetically full of life with absolutely NO LIMITATIONS! She bartended for over 30 years; she worked in the Healthcare Industry; but most importantly she had a pair of "GIFTED HANDS!" She was the WORLD'S best hair braider!! (Hands Down). She invented "Baby Hair" way before it became a trend. She was very passionate about her family which she loved dearly. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh but also had no problem telling it like it is. When it came to partying, she played ZERO games; naming herself a "Dominologist" in domino's and an exquisite spade player. Whenever there was a party, she was always the first one on the dance floor ready to cut a rug. She loved the motorcycle clubs. Where ever she went she made her presence known. She was the queen of the night life. Nita loved to cook! She would always say, we needed to open up a family restaurant. Growing up around her, you had NO CHOICE but to listen to old jams. (Prince, Cameo, The Impressions, The Whispers & Dramatics just to name a few.) To know Nita was to love her. Every time you saw her, she was "SHARP" from head to toe. She had a style like no other from her earrings, makeup, bracelets, clothes, shoes and toe polish, just everything had to match. Her mother, Doris Ann Miller; her father, Farn Hunter and her brother, Charles Ashby preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish precious memories to her four children, Aisha Ashby, Michael Ashby, Danielle Ashby (Michael Bacheor) and Joseph Ashby (ShaQunanna); honorary daughter/niece, Aprile Ashby; honorary sister/friend, Gail Jenkins; six grandchildren, Deron Widdle, Charles "Lil' Chuck" Puckett, Mikey Ashby, Kobe Ashby, Jace Ashby and Jovani Ashby; three siblings, Michael Ashby, Mark Ashby and Jacqueline Robinson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. Spring Valley Funeral Home is honored to be of service to the Ashby family.
