Gail Lavaughn Curtis, 64, of Barnsville, Georgia, formerly of Dyersburg, Tennessee died Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Norman Regional Hospital in  Norman, Oklahoma, while visiting family.

She was born December 24, 1956 in Ridgely, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Wilburn O'Dell Tubbs and the late Iola Ruth Murray Tubbs.

She was a retired employee from First Call,  She lived with her sister, Mary Hein and brother-in-law, Dennis, after losing her husband last year.  She loved to travel and go on new adventures.  She moved to Oklahoma where they resided until moving to Georgia where she got to go on many more adventures.  She loved going to the beach and mining for diamonds.

She is survived by two brothers, Neil Tubbs of Bogota, Tennessee and Daniel Tubbs of Dyersburg, Tennessee; four sisters, Maxine Crain (Eddie) of Trimble, Tennessee, Bonnie Epperson (David) of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Mary Hein (Dennis) of Barnsville, Georgia and Patricia Grills( Perry) of  Newbern, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years, Bill Curtis; "A Big Brother," Roger Dale Tubbs; one sister, Shelby Chunn and one nephew, Billy Joe Burkeen.

Graveside services for Mrs. Curtis will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Sorrell's Chapel. Officiating this service will be Bro. Perry Grills, Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Honoring Mrs. Curtis as pallbearers will be Dennis Hein, Brad Tubbs, Andy Grills, Jason Owens, Colton Owens and Mark Brown,II. Honorary pallbearers will be her brothers, Neil Tubbs and Daniel Tubbs.
