Decker, age 70, of Shiloh, IL, born on June 9, 1951, in Springfield, IL, died on Monday, September 6, 2021, at his residence.&nbsp;</strong></em></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:22px;"><em><strong>Chuck was raised in Auburn, IL, but spent the last 37 years in the Belleville area.&nbsp; He was a member of the United States Army serving in Vietnam and a proud recipient of the Purple Heart among other military honors.&nbsp; After being honorably&nbsp;discharged, Chuck worked in the Interior Design Department at John Cochran VA Hospital for 27 years before retiring in 2013.</strong></em></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:22px;"><em><strong>He was preceded in death by parents, Herman and Virginia, nee Stinnett Decker Lindgren; his father-in-law, Eugene Halloran, III; his mother-in-law, Joann Halloran; and his brothers-in-law, Eugene Halloran IV and Terry Halloran.</strong></em></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:22px;"><em><strong>Chuck is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Diane Decker, nee Halloran, who he married on February 4, 1984; his brother-in-law, Danny (LuAnn) Halloran; his sisters-in-law, Colleen (Kevin) McDaniel, Beth (Troy Lillis) Halloran, Amy (Larry Schwarze) Halloran, Emily (Brad) LaCroix, Christy Halloran and Karla Halloran; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives, including Diane&rsquo;s dear cousin, Loretta Lynch Davidson.</strong></em></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:22px;"><em><strong>Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors.</strong></em></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:22px;"><em><strong>Private family services will be held.</strong></em></span></p>

Charles E. Decker, age 70, of Shiloh, IL, born on June 9, 1951, in Springfield, IL, died on Monday, September 6, 2021, at his residence. 

Chuck was raised in Auburn, IL, but spent the last 37 years in the Belleville area.  He was a member of the United States Army serving in Vietnam and a proud recipient of the Purple Heart among other military honors.  After being honorably discharged, Chuck worked in the Interior Design Department at John Cochran VA Hospital for 27 years before retiring in 2013.

He was preceded in death by parents, Herman and Virginia, nee Stinnett Decker Lindgren; his father-in-law, Eugene Halloran, III; his mother-in-law, Joann Halloran; and his brothers-in-law, Eugene Halloran IV and Terry Halloran.
