BEEKMAN – Vivian L. Costine, 97, died peacefully at her granddaughter Kimberly Caso’s home in Myrtle Beach, SC on September 13, 2021. Born in Patterson, NY on June 2, 1924, she was the daughter of Douglas and Mabel (Woodruff) Haight. Vivian had been an area resident since 1948. She was a member of the Union Vale Grange and Pomona Grange, as well as the State and National Grange. She was also a member of the Main Stream Square Dance Club in Red Hook and the Round Dance Club “Nite & Gailes.” In her spare time, Vivian would enjoy arts and crafts, completing a crossword puzzle, crocheting, attending her great grandchildren’s sporting events and occasionally a cold beer. Vivian is survived by her children, Lynn Michael Costine and his wife Barbara of Hudson, Denise Fitzpatrick of NC, and April LaDue and her husband Eugene of Malta; her sister, Evelyn Boeckels of Toms River, NJ; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Vivian was predeceased by her husband, Edmond Costine; and her siblings, Gordon Haight, Douglas Haight, Gladys Hilpertshauser, Lillian Pearston, Betty Scanlon, Reginald Haight and Beatrice Mues. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, October 9 at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction. Interment will follow in the family plot in Beekman Cemetery.
