Christine M. Finer Obituary

Christine M. Finer, 74, of Beverly Hills, FL, passed away on September 5, 2021. She was born on March 5, 1947 in Newark, NJ, the daughter of the late William and Marie Ringwood.

Christine married her husband, Gregory on October 25, 1969, after four years of dating.

Mrs. Finer was once employed at a lawyer’s office.  She then began working at Merck & Company Pharmaceuticals in Rahway, NJ. There, she worked as a specialist in fleet administration and transferred to the financial department as a grant coordinator. She worked there for close to 20 years. The Finers relocated to Citrus County, Florida in 2001.

She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills, FL, where she served as an usher.  She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Knights of Columbus Counsel 6168, and once cooked for 200 people for a Knights of Columbus function. Christine loved to cook. She owned many cookbooks from famous chefs. Gregory’s favorite dish was the chicken she made from a recipe by Nick Stellino. She also liked playing games on the computer and occasionally visiting casinos to play the slot machines.

Travelling was a big part of Christine’s life.  She and her husband made cross country trips in their 40 foot motor home, visiting California, Oregon and Washington State.  She also liked taking cruises.  She had cruised to South America, the U.S. Virgin Islands and also travelled to numerous foreign countries such as Italy, Spain, France, Amsterdam, Holland and Norway.  Her favorite trip was a 15 day Alaskan cruise tour.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Gregory Finer; son, Gregory finer Jr. and his wife, Shannon; sister, Cheryl Ringwood; brother, Joseph Ringwood; and two grandchildren, Madeline and Gavin Finer; and Brodie, her loving Westhighland White Terrier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.   She will be sadly missed by many.
