Irene Jorgensen, age 93, of Ormond Beach FL peacefully passed away on September 10, 2021. Irene was born in NJ on May 31, 1928 and spent the majority of her life in Sayreville, except for her last 5 years where she resided at Brookdale Care facility in Florida, near her daughter. Irene was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend and so much more. She will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. Irene is predeceased by her much loved husband, Harrison, parents, Valerie and Andrew Liszka, also brothers Joseph and Frank. She is survived by her beloved children Stephen, Diane and Karen. Also survived by nephew Frank Liszka, his wife Jenine, and their daughter Gena, her nieces, MaryAnne Wapelhorst, Margaret Schwartz, Kathleen and Robert Coyle as well as many loving cousins, neighbors and friends. Irene worked as a clerk-steno at Dupont F&F Research Lab, and later for her friends at Hearth Restaurant for many years. She loved her town and her church and spent a lot of her time volunteering for St. Stans church and school. She helped in the school cafeteria, during bingos and the annual bazaar, and also counting in the church office. She was a member of Sayreville Historical Society, St. Stans Rosary Society, was a charter and life member of the OLV Columbiettes an Thursday Seniors. Funeral services will be Friday 11am from the Maliszewski Memorial Home 121 Main St. Sayreville with a 11:30am mass at St. Stanislaus Church in Sayreville. A burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Sayreville, NJ. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 9am to 11am. Please note due to the Covid-19 Delta variant a mask must be worn inside the funeral home at all times.
