Ms. Betty Delores Wilson, 85, of Sanford, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Central Carolina Hospital of Sanford, North Carolina.

Ms. Betty Delores Petty Wilson departed this life on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Central Carolina Hospital.

Betty was born November 25, 1935 to William Thompson and Leia Petty, who both preceded her in death.

She was educated in the Lee County School System. She worked for Townsend Food in Pittsboro, NC until she retired.

Betty was preceded in death by 8 children; one grandson, Bryan McAuley; 6 brothers; and a sister.

She is survived by a son, Jimmy Wilson (Tracy)of Sanford, NC; 4 daughters, Ernestine Wilson, Barbara McLean, Betty Byrd (Gerald), and Shemika Wilson, all of Sanford, North Carolina; 3 grandsons whom she loved and raised, Anthony Wilson (Candace), Michael Petty, and Mike Mike Petty; 1 brother, William Petty of Baltimore, Maryland; 1 sister, Ethel Mae Bailey of New York; 35 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a host of great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Arrangements are entrusted to McLeod Funeral Home of Sanford, North Carolina.
