<p>Augustine F. "Gus" Simas, Jr., 85, of Rumford, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Steere House Nursing Center. Born in East Providence, he was a son of the late Agostinho F. and Maria (daCosta) Simas. Gus was an Accounting Executive for RCA for many years before he retired. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed teaching and making stained glass creations. He leaves many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Manuel, George, Raymond, Edward and John Simas and Marie DiGiuseppe. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Xavier Church, North Carpenter Street. Burial with Military Honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 5-8.
