Maria Margarida Medeiros, 82, of East Providence, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at the Grace Barker Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late José Moniz Medeiros. Born in Ponta Delgada, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Feliciano and Valentina (Viveiros) Ferreira. Mrs. Medeiros worked as a housekeeper in Roger Williams Hospital before retiring.

Margarida was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family. She leaves a son, Joseph F. Medeiros and his wife Johna of Coventry, two daughters, Helena Couto and her husband Michael of Riverside, Patricia F. Medeiros and her husband Charlie Gillis of Hopkinton, MA, five grandchildren, Shawn Couto, Abby Medeiros, Justin Couto, Edmund Gillis and Henry Gillis, two sisters, Manuela Cordeiro of East Providence and Dinora Melo of West Warwick. She was the sister of the late Emanuel Ferreira and Feliciano "Fuji" Ferreira.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 10:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Brendan's Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours, Thursday 6-8.
