Barbara R. Costa, 66, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Rhode Island Hospital.

She was the wife of the late Roland Costa.

Born in Sumter, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Rosemell (Rhames) Nathaniel.

Mrs. Costa was a bus driver for RIPTA before retiring. She enjoyed food, decorating and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She leaves two daughters, Tamela Ruffin of East Providence Qianna Ranglin and her husband Donovan of Cranston, one son, Frederick Cooper of East Providence, nine grandchildren, Lakeitha, Kadeisha and Shaquandra Ruffin, Davonte and Ashonte Symonds, Jaiden Williams, Arionna Ranglin, Donovan Ranglin, Jr. and Olivia Ranglin, two great grandchildren, Saria Perou and Zahir Ruffin, two sisters, Patricia Nathaniel and Susan Davis, two brothers, John and Larry Nathaniel and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Glenn, David and James Nathaniel and Marion Pringle.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 11:00AM in the Ebenezer Baptist Church, 475 Cranston Street, Providence. Burial will be private.
