Howard F. “Red” Brennan, Sr. 86, formerly of Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence died Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Rhode Island Veteran’s Home, Bristol. He was the husband of the late Margaret C. (Normann) Brennan. He was born in Saylesville, RI a son of the late Frank L. and Hilda (Wood) Brennan. Mr. Brennan was the owner and operator of Harts/Brennans Pizza of New Hampshire before retiring. He was also the owner of the former Margarets Restaurant of East Providence. He served as a Deputy Sheriff for the City of Providence. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He leaves two daughters; Deborah J. Roderick of Warwick and Ellen M. Paine of Pawtucket; seven sons, John L. Brennan of New Hampshire, Steven F. Brennan of New Hampshire, Richard J. Brennan of East Providence, William Brennan of Maine, David M. Brennan of East Providence, Howard F. Brennan, Jr. of Riverside and Rock F. Brennan of Riverside; one sister, Patricia Normann of Georgia; twenty grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Thomas J. Brennan and James P. Brennan and brother of the late Ann Thatcher, Ellen Wilkins, George, Charles and Francis Brennan. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
