<p>October 2, 2013</p><p>Gilberto DaSilva, 90 died Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at the Evergreen House Health Center. He was the husband of the late Alice D. (Oliveira) DaSilva. He was born in Feteira, Faial, Azores a son of the late Manuel and Lucrecia (DaGloria) DaCosta. Mr. DaSilva worked at the Pawtucket Elks Lodge, where he was also a member, before retiring. He was inducted into the New Bedford Whaling Museum Wall of Fame on June 13, 2013. He leaves one daughter, Margarida L. DaSilva, five sons, Arnold DaSilva, Gilbert O. DaSilva, Jose A. DaSilva, Louis C. DaSilva and Paulo J. DaSilva, two sisters, Margarida Sousa and Julia Moreira, sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was the great grandfather of the late Talinda M. DaSilva and was pre-deceased by three brothers and two sisters. His funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Ghost Church, Knight Street, Providence. Burial will be in Mt.Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 5-8.</p>
