Amanda “Mandy” Ruth (Hawke) Johnson, 38, of Niles, passed away at Memorial Hospital in South Bend on Sunday, September 12, 2021.
Mandy was born on October 29, 1982 to the late Barry and Tracey. While growing up, Mandy was a
kindhearted and carefree kid who loved to play soccer. She graduated from Niles High School. In 2015,
Amanda became a mother and had a son, Tyler. Mandy wanted to live, she fought to survive. Though
she lost her battle here on earth, she is now at peace in the arms of Jesus. Mandy will be remembered
for her ability to light up a room with her laughter, she will be remembered for her spunk and her
outspoken nature. She will be missed and never forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her father, Barry Hawke, and her mother, Tracey (True) Bowker.
Mandy is survived by her son, Tyler Johnson; step-father, William “Wayde” Bowker; siblings, Barry Weddle, Ashley Mason, Athena Tucker-Pasiak, Jeremy Hawke, Jess Austin, Cole Austin, Spencer Austin, William Bowker Jr., and Justin Dreager; and many extended family members and close friends.
Mandy’s family will be hosting a memorial service at Faith Victory Church in Buchanan on October 29, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. with a gathering to follow at the Eagles Lodge in Niles at 6:30 p.m.

God, give us grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen.
