Ms. Lavern Sales 67 of Mount Airy, NC was called to her resting place on September 11, 2021 at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. She was born June 10, 1954 in Surry County to the late Lavenia Cockerham Sales and Vance Lee Sales. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life James Smith two sisters Karen Hatcher and Loretta Jean Conners; one brother Melvin Sales; grandparents Laymon Cockerham and Della Phillips Cockerham; Nina Jane Gadberry Sales and Charlie Sales. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter Kymya Smith of Kingsport, TN, son Jamie Sales of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren Nouria L. Edwards, James Spencer, Jayden Elijah Sales, Amaya Nicole Sales and Naomi Rachel James Sales; mother-in-law Omelia Mattie Beck of Mount Airy, NC; aunt Patricia Collins of Durham, NC, JoAnner Porter of Boonville, NC, Canzis Tidline of Winston Salem, NC, Ella Green of Mount Airy NC; two great-aunt Nora Petty of Elkin, NC, Imogene Boles, Elkin NC, and three sisters-in-law Vera Reynolds, Johnnie Mae Smith and Carolyn Smith, nephew Melvin Lee Sales, and special friends Mildred Smith, J. C. Hatcher, Joe King. With a host of other relatives and friends.
