Mills Gordon

Mills Gordon McConnells, SC Mr. Sumpter Mills Gordon, 90, of McConnells, died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Bethesda Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Daniel Smoak officiating. Mills was the son of the late Sumpter and Mona Montgomery Gordon. He retired from the Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Company, and was a member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his son and family, Kenneth and Janet Gordon of Townville, SC, grandchildren, Ryan, Jonathan, and Robbie Lee, step children, Jerry Auten, Buddy Auten, Polly Hydrick, Cindy Walker, brother and sister in law, James and Edith Gordon, and a number of step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his wives, Maude Lewis Gordon and Jean Leslie Gordon, step sons, Carl and Bobby King, and eight siblings. Visitation will be from 6:00 8:00 PM at Bratton Funeral Home, Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Memorials may be made to Bethesda Presbyterian Church, 4858 McConnells Hwy., York, SC 29745.
