Candace Joy Derry Obituary

Candace Joy Derry of Tallmadge, age 51, unexpectedly went to be with her Mama, Carrie Crislip, and their Lord on the evening of Saturday, September 4th. Right before her passing she was enjoying the beautiful countryside with her Soulmate, Chris Derry, on the back of their bike, her favorite place in the world.

A remarkable human with the brightest personality, Candace demonstrated altruism throughout her career in social work. No matter the position, her goal was to help others. She accomplished this everyday without fail for over 25 years. She had recently started a new life chapter as a Social Support Advisor at Summit DD, a position she had already begun to excel at.

In addition to her husband, Candace will be missed by her three children and greatest joys; Arianna (Wesley Pellon), Tristen (Ariela Estrada), and Lydia. Her granddaughters, Arya and one making her appearance in December, along with all her future grandchildren, will never stop hearing stories about their Mimi and how much she treasured them. She will also be mourned by her three sisters, Linda Doran, Paula Leonard (Ben), and Melanie Morrissette (Greg) as well as countless other friends and family members. Her faithful, loving fur babies, Maize, Blue, Rambo, and Chonga look forward to the day they are reunited again.

Candace was also preceded in death by her father, Robert Crislip, and her sister, Kimberly. Her family takes great comfort in knowing she has been reunited in Heaven with her parents, whom she missed dearly. They know that she is already planting giant fields of sunflowers outside of her big, colorful mansion surrounded by sunsets and everlasting rainbows.

Candace was the embodiment of her middle name, Joy. She was unfailingly selfless and kind. Her positivity and smile were infectious. She loved everyone unconditionally and radiated warmth. Her family will never be able to express the depths of their loss adequately but will continue to find strength in her memory.

All family and friends are encouraged to say goodbye (for now) on Saturday, September 18th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Bacher Moore Funeral Home. The following day, Sunday September 19th at 1:00 pm, a public service officiated by her brother-in-law, Eric Derry, will be held. Following calling hours, Candace will be cremated and one day, when she is reunited with her Soulmate, their ashes will be spread to their favorite places.

Her family asks that mourners refrain from wearing all black. Your finest tie dyed shirts, colorful dresses, and brightest scarves are much appreciated for this Celebration of Her Life. All gifts and flowers can be sent to the Bacher Moore Funeral Home at 3326 Manchester Road Akron, Ohio 44319. Her husband and children would love to see her surrounded by sunflowers one last time.
