CLOVER Dorothy Byers Melton Dot, 84, of Clover, SC passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020 peacefully at her home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Lakeview Memory Gardens with the Revered Dave Stanford officiating. The family will receive friends at Lakeview Memory Gardens following the graveside service. Dot was born on January 17, 1936 in York County. She was the daughter of the late Frederick C. Byers, Sr. and Mildred McSwain Byers. She was a member at First Baptist Church in Clover, SC. She is survived by her son, Donnie Byers (Sheila), daughter, Tracey Melton Tench (Bill), brother, Fred Byers Jr. (Barbara), sisters, Judy Meek, Nancy Moses (Houston), grandchildren, Kerry Buchert (Marc), Leah Brooke Tench, Blake Dixon (Natalie), Jessica Evans (Mark), and great grandchildren, Anna Buchert, Lincoln Dixon, Sully Dixon, Anderson Evans, and Blaise Moses. In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Buran Max Melton, brothers, Bill Byers, George Byers, sisters, Margaret Poteat, and Sarah Wray. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Clover, 117 S. Main St. Clover, SC 29710 or to a charity of ones choice.
