On Saturday, December 12, 2020, Willie Mae Robinson Neil, loving mother of three children, passed away at the age of 91. Willie was born on January 22, 1929, in York, S.C. to Samuel Robinson and Margaret Norman Robinson. She graduated from York High School in 1948 and worked as a beautician until she retired at 80 years old. On August 14, 1948, she married Hugh Edward Neil. They raised three daughters, Linda, Pam, and Diane. She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of York. Widowed at just 48 years old, Willie was independent and a hard worker. At one time, she operated three businesses in York and still managed to take trips to the beach with her friends and cut the grass at her home and apartments. Willie was always willing to lend a helping hand. She helped take care of her grandchildren and in her later years, her sister, Ida, at the nursing home. Willie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers and 3 sisters along with her beloved grandson, Matthew Carpenter. She is survived by her sister, Ida Porter, her 3 girls, Linda Harrell (Jerry), Pam Perkins (William), Diane Carpenter (Michael), 3 grandchildren, Kristin Harrell (Kevin Bromfield), Blake Perkins, and Olivia Mitchell (James), and 3 great grandchildren, Gavin Perkins and Raylan and Mattison Mitchell. A private service will be held by the family. The family would like to thank White Oak Manor of York and Hospice and Community Care of Rock Hill.
