Bobby Lee Boyd, 95, of La Porte City, died Monday September 13 at his daughter’s home in La Porte City of natural causes. He was born December 4, 1925 in rural Livingston County, Missouri, son of Thomas and Lela Wilson Boyd. He married Beverly June Green on Nov. 8, 1947, in Waterloo. She preceded him in death on July 14, 1999. He joined the Merchant Marines in United States Coast Guard and honorably served our nation during WWII. He was employed with John Deere Tractor Company, as a machinist. Survived by: two sons, Roger (Diane) Boyd of Oelwein and Jared (Dawn) Boyd of Milwaukee, Wis.; two daughters, Debra Foulk of La Porte City and Kelli (Tim) Boyd of Waterloo. Preceded in death by: his wife; one brother, Darryl Boyd; two sisters, Betty Bigelow and Juanita Williams. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 16 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service, South Street Chapel with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Public visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. prior to service on South Street. Memorials: directed to the family.
